Thomas & Wong Present to Hundreds of Alumni in UW Now Livestream

Nearly every Tuesday evening since late March, the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA) has hosted virtual livestream discussions of various COVID-19-related topics in a program called “UW Now,” featuring UW faculty working on the topic in their various respective fields. Hundreds of alumni have tuned in to each hour-long event, moderated by WFAA president Mike Knetter, for insights from their alma mater on the historic events of this year.

This week, Dr. Nancy Wong, the Kohl’s Chair in Retail Innovation and Department Chair in Consumer Science, spoke on the future of consumer behavior alongside the Business School’s Dr. Evan Polman.

Last week, Dr. Alvin Thomas, Assistant Professor in Human Development and Family Studies, joined Center for Healthy Minds’ Dr. Richard Davidson to address mental health and well-being, and particularly that of Black men and boys given not only COVID-19’s disparate impacts on people of color but also racist police violence.
