Your SoHE Career Advisors are available for career-related questions and appointments remotely. Here is how you can connect with us:

Drop-in Advising
We offer virtual drop-in peer career advising on Wednesdays from 10:00 am-noon and Thursdays from 1:00 pm-3:00pm. To utilize drop-in services, you can simply check in using this form which will open 10-15 minutes prior to drop-in advising hours. Drop-ins are meant to be utilized for quick (10-15 minute) career related questions about your resume and/or cover letter, interviewing, Handshake, etc. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis during drop-ins. Students may have their resume and cover letters reviewed during drop-in advising times as well or may opt to send their application documents into our electronic review service (below). If drop-in times don’t work for you and you’d like to discuss one of these topics, you may also book appointments through Starfish with our student intern Madeline Braun, throughout the week, in addition to meeting with your assigned career advisor.

Electronic Document Reviews
Students who wish to have their resume and/or cover letter reviewed by a career advisor may send their documents in for review to A SoHE career advisor will review documents submitted through this service within 48 hours (not including weekends) and respond with electronic feedback, comments, and suggested edits.

Career Advising Appointments
For more in-depth career advising questions, such as major and career exploration, internship challenges, evaluating job offers, etc. students may schedule 30-minute career advising appointments with a SoHE career advisor using the online Starfish scheduling tool found in the MyUW portal. Search “Starfish” and follow the instructions to schedule an appointment with your assigned career advisor. You can find out who your advisor is by checking your Student Center.

For resume or cover letter reviews, please utilize the drop-in advising or electronic document review services first before scheduling an appointment with a professional advisor.
