The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.

–Maria Montessori

I began teaching in the Duck classroom at the Child Development Lab in 2017.

I fell in love with teaching as an undergraduate intern at the Northern Illinois University Child Development Lab while completing a BS in Child Development. I continued on at the NIU CDL as a graduate teaching assistant while earning my MS in Family and Child Studies, and a certificate in Women’s Studies. I then worked with older infants and toddlers at a private preschool for a couple of years before moving to Florida and completing Montessori teacher training. After teaching for 3 years at a private Montessori school, I moved back up north and started the next chapter of my teaching journey here at the UW Child Development Lab.

  • Montessori Philosophy
    • American Montessori Society Early Childhood Credential, 2016
  • Children’s development of basic music competence
    • Completed teacher training with the Music Together program and taught music classes for children and their families
  • Positive guidance techniques
    • Certified instructor of Redirecting Children’s Behavior, a parent education course

In my free time, I like to hang out with my dog Louie, go for jogs, explore various parks and hiking trails, read, and see live music.
