As a first generation college student, I thought the purpose of college was to earn a degree so that my only career option was not to go work in a manufacturing factory. After graduating with multiple degrees, making a more than generous salary, and working for a prestigious international technology company, I found myself professionally unfulfilled. After some soul searching, I realized the purpose of college is to enable you to pursue a path, career and life with purpose and meaning.
