Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other’s eyes for an instant?

–Henry David Thoreau

While studying HDFS here at SOHE I was taught how important the first years of life are.  I never realized how important until I started working at the Child Development Lab. I am continually amazed each day how resilient kids are especially as infants. The best days are the ones where I observe a child’s compassion for another being. In those moments I’m reminded that each of these children can change the world. How lucky am I to be a part of shaping their present which will influence their future?
