Take chances, make mistakes, get messy and get out there and explore.

I have had the pleasure of working at the Child Development Lab since 1986 and watching it grow and evolve.  Our motto of Notice, Wonder, Explore, Discover inspires children, students, staff and parents to create an atmosphere and culture of learning.  The Child Development Lab provides rich learning environments that stimulates children and adults intellectually while fostering nurturing relationships.

I graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Preschool/Kindergarten education. I joined the Child Development Lab in 1986 teaching preschool children, including 4K in partnership with Madison Public Schools, and have been in the field since 1978.

I embrace our motto of Notice, Wonder, Explore, Discover that inspires children, students, staff and parents to create an atmosphere and culture of learning. One of my areas of focus and expertise is in creating rich learning environments that stimulate children and adults intellectually while fostering nurturing relationships. I am passionate about science inquiry, STEM learning, and nature-based outdoor learning in early childhood. Another area of focus is music and movement as it ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness. It helps the mind and body work together.
