SoHE Labs and the Research Center
SoHE offers HDFS students many unique learning and research opportunities beyond the classroom, including the in-house Child Development Lab, a home for real-world teaching, problem solving, and research with children and their families.
SoHE’s modern facilities also hold the Frances and Elliot Lehman Family Research Lab, and the Center for Child and Family Well-Being, a hub for students to collaborate with community-based organizations and world-class researchers. And, SoHE students are also able to access the many top-tier resources of the entire UW-Madison campus.

Phi Upsilon Omicron (Phi U) recognizes and encourages academic excellence, promotes the development of leadership and scholarship, and provides opportunities for service to the community. Human Ecology students who meet membership requirements are invited to apply.
