On December 2, the School of Human Ecology invites students, faculty, and friends to the Digitization Science for Cultural Heritage Presentations. Join us in welcoming members of the Advanced Imaging Technology Laboratory of Kyoto University in Kyoto Japan as they discuss topics pertaining to digital preservation of artwork and artifacts. After the program, their team of engineers will be using the state-of-the art hardware and imaging software developed at Kyoto University to scan several important textiles in the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection. This non-invasive, ultra-high resolution equipment has been used by world-class museums and international organizations like UNESCO to capture microscopic detail along with extreme high color fidelity.
