Weaving Our Way Into The Future
This isn’t the first time Marianne Fairbanks has been recognized for her outstanding work. However, she is one of the first to fully recognize the futuristic possibilities of textiles and how they can revolutionize the way we live our lives. Fairbanks, along with Assistant Chemistry Professor Trisha Andrew, is finding ways where math and weaving can can collaborate together to make items such as generating refugee tents or umbrellas. Follow more of her story by clicking the link here to see how solar textiles can patch together our various problems in the world. Also, stop by the Ruth Davis Design Gallery by February 21st, 2016 to see her collection, Impractical Weaving Suggestions.
