SoHE Student Carlini Wins Coveted Sullivan Award
Last week, SoHE student and UW athlete Lauren Carlini was named the 2017 AAU James E. Sullivan Award winner, an honor that is given to the most outstanding U.S. amateur athlete who also demonstrates premier leadership, character and sportsmanship. She is the first UW student-athlete to win the prestigious award as well as the first volleyball player, male or female. After Carlini graduates in May with her degree in Retailing and Consumer Behavior, she moves to Anaheim to train with the USA national team. Read her recent article in Volleyball Magazine.
Ponto Crime Scene Technology Update in WSJ
Assistant Professor Kevin Ponto was featured in the Wisconsin State Journal as part of a follow up article on his collaboration with Dane County Sheriff’s Office that explores the possibilities of 3D technology in crime scene investigations. The project is supported by a Department of Justice grant.

Wisconsin Without Boarders Awards Go to SoHE Students
Out of the seven students and faculty honored in this year’s Wisconsin Without Borders awards, two Service-Learning Awards went to went to SoHE students.
