Volunteering

Our Child Development Lab is happy to provide volunteer opportunities for college students from various programs.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with highly skilled teachers and assist them in providing activities that promote the child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
  • Provide support working with children on their daily routines
  • Provide one-on-one individual attention to children, including children from diverse cultural background
  • Help supervise activities to ensure the safety of children all times

The Child Development Lab is open year-round from 7:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. M-F. In order to provide consistency for children, we ask that volunteers commit to at least three hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Note:  If interested for the Spring 2018 semester, please send in application after registering for Spring classes. Applications are due by January 6th.

To apply: please fill out a Volunteer Application and submit it to Kristin Orlowski, the Research & Student Coordinator at: CDLplacements@sohe.wisc.edu

Before volunteering, individuals must pass a criminal records background check. Volunteers must also attend a program orientation prior to working with children.
