Staff Roles & Qualifications
Research has shown staff qualifications and training affect the quality of programming for children. Individuals trained in Early Childhood Education and child development generally do a better job with children than those who do not have this specialized training.
Jill has 35 years of experience in the early childhood field including experience and training in Special Education, working as a Preschool Teacher, a Kindergarten Teacher, a Family Child Care Provider for infants and toddlers and 18 years with the Preschool Lab. She is responsible for enrollment, staff supervision, financial management, and the day-to-day operations of the program. She has a BS degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Edgewood College.
The Assistant Directors provide back up to the Administrator and serve as part of the management team.
Paula joined the Child Development Lab in June 2009. She has a BS degree from UW-Milwaukee in Education Studies. Her past experience includes directing, teaching, early childhood policy analysis, outreach, grants administration, outreach, event planning, consulting and training. She has worked in the field since 1992 including 5 years as the Mineral Point Road site administrator.
Terri joined the Child Development Lab in 2001. She has a Child & Family Studies degree from UW-Madison. Her past experience includes teaching and administration including 2 years as Assistant Director at LaPetite Academy. She has worked in the early childhood field since 1994.
Float Teachers substitute teach in each classroom when needed and assist with certain administrative tasks as available.
