The Prenatal to Five Initiative focuses on the earliest times in a child’s life, looking for ways we can enhance proper brain development and work to improve the quality of life in our state and our nation. SoHE is driven to create a unique, innovative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary approach to teaching, researching, and engagement in a manner that enhances the Wisconsin Idea. Through the human ecology lens, we investigate the impact of housing, nutrition, physical health, education, parenting, and more during this key period of life.
