An Introduction to the Design Studies IA Program

June 18 – August 2, 2019

Interior architecture sample

The Interior Architecture Program is structured on a foundation emphasizing the process and communication of design, as well as the final product.

The four-year professional program is accredited by the Council of Interior Design. Students learn to integrate the art of design with social sciences concerning the interaction of people and their environment, the history of design, and the physical sciences relating to the effects of materials on the physical health and comfort of inhabitants.

Curriculum includes studio courses in sketching, rendering, computer-aided design, and three-dimensional modeling. Other coursework includes art history, the history of interiors, mechanical engineering, and art.

Students gain real-world experience through internships and have the opportunity to build an impressive and professional work portfolio. Students complete the Interior Architecture Program fully prepared to sit for the prestigious National Council for Interior Design Qualification examination.
