Hand in Hand – Student Starts Fundraiser for ACLU

Hand shaped pincushions made by graduate student Hannah Bennett

SoHE graduate student and MFA candidate Hannah Bennett is a paper maker, textile artist, and philanthropist. Troubled by climate change and the situation surrounding the acceptance of refugees, Bennett started a GoFundMe page for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Wanting to help in some way, she decided to sell some of her art in the form of small, hand shaped pincushions. Bennett requests donations in units of $30, with approximately half going towards supplies and the remaining amount going to the ACLU. We love to see our students going above and beyond to help others! To see more of Bennett’s work, check out her website and a recent blog story.
