Funding Opportunity

2014-15 Statewide Outreach Incentive Grant Program

As part of campus efforts to strengthen engagement around the state, the Office of Univerfsity Relations operates a small grant program to help fund outreach programming outside of Dane County.  You can learn more about it here.

Recent examples of projects partially funded by this grant program include:
  • Science on Tap-Minocqua Outreach Series:  a program that brings UW-Madison scientists to north-central Wisconsin to engage with the public on topical issues such as mining, waterways and deer management
  • Dictionary of Regional English (DARE) Wisconsin Dialect Survey: outreach visits by DARE staff to ten Wisconsin communities encouraging participation in the survey
  • Tomah Tractor Pull Hearing Preservation Program: outreach by Department of Communication Sciences and Disorder faculty and staff to hand out free earplugs and promote hearing preservation

If you work on outreach programming, or know others who do, please encourage them to apply for funding.  There’s no application deadline—the funding is available until gone.
