SoHE Student Megan Donovan Awarded Scholarship at NYC Gala

Congratulations to SoHE student Megan Donovan who earned a $10,000 Geoffrey Beene ?National Scholarship Award. Donovan was one of eight finalists from across the U.S. to receive the award during a star-studded awards dinner that took place in New York City on Tuesday, January 12. A group of SoHE Retailing and Consumer Behavior students traveled to NYC with representatives from SoHE’s Center for Retailing to attend the event and connect with other industry professionals.

SoHE’s YMA Fashion Scholarship Winners

In addition, eleven SoHE students have been awarded $5,000 scholarships through the highly competitive YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund. Six SoHE students worked on the design prompt and the other five successfully completed the business case studies. All winners of the award were announced during an award ceremony in New York City in January 12, 2016. Several SoHE recipients were on hand along with representatives of the UW-Madison Center for Retail Excellence. Our students were selected from approximately 400 applicants representing 48 schools across the nation.Congratuations to these SoHE students!

The YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund was founded in 1937 with the help of various influential members within the fashion industry. Together, as a goal, they strive to have their students advance in the fashion world by awarding them for their creative, outstanding, and mesmerizing work! With this, the YMA Scholarship Fund hopes they can encourage these young students can pursue careers in design, merchandising, retailing, and business.
