More Than a Word Documentary iconJoin us for a Native November event, the screening of the documentary “More than a Word” by John Little and Kenn Little. The documentary analyzes the Washington football team and their use of the derogatory term R*dskins. Using interviews from both those in favor of changing the name and those against, “More Than a Word” presents a deeper analysis of the many issues surrounding the Washington team name. The documentary also examines the history of Native American cultural appropriation.

Sponsored by Center for Design and Material Culture, Civil Society and Community Studies department at SoHE, and American Indian Studies. Includes a discussion afterward led by Assistant Professor, Kasey Keeler. Pizza and beverages will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
