Please join us to explore approaches for finding funding opportunities to support research and scholarship in SoHE.
Topics covered include:
- Laying the groundwork – defining your research project(s) and plans
- Identifying agencies and organizations that will fund your research
- Making key connections as you prepare for and begin to write a proposal
- Creating timelines for proposal writing and submission
The first part of the session (~30 minutes) will cover resources, approaches, and tools to help with finding funding.
The second half of the session (~30 minutes) will take participants through steps to use PIVOT, a grant-seeking database, to set up a user profile and create customized searches based on individual research interests.
At the end of the session there will be ample time for Q&A and discussion.
Registration is required and a link to the Zoom meeting will be sent 2-3 days beforehand.
Sarah Marcotte will lead the first portion of the session, with Associate Dean for Research Lauren Papp and Research Administrator Andrea Plassman contributing.
Ellen Jacks, Grants and Public Services Librarian will lead the second portion of the session on using PIVOT.
