Life after college marks a major transition into adulthood and the world of post-graduate employment or continuing education…especially when it comes to finances. You may be wondering…how do I negotiate salary as part of a job offer? What is a spending plan and why is it important? Why should I pay attention when I’m presented with a benefits package? What steps can I take to become financially well?

Get all of these questions answered and MORE at SoHE’s Signature Career Development Event “401ks, HSAs, and FSAs…Oh My! Benefits and Salary Negotiation Tips” on February 25th from 6-8pm, featuring salary negotiation expert and keynote speaker, Ashley Quinto Powell.

Students with Jobs and InternshipsAshley Quinto Powell is a speaker and sales executive. She speaks nationally on salary negotiation, motherhood, and inclusion — most recently for the Illinois Technology Association, Pinterest, Boeing and Google — and she supports women in business through formal and informal mentorship communities. She has been named a Brava Woman to Watch, an InBusiness Magazine 40 Under 40 and a 2018 Athena Award nominee. She has been quoted in MSNMoney.com and the Huffington Post and is the subject of a children’s book, She’s a Technology Sales Executive and She’s My Mom. She lives in Madison with her husband and two children.

This event is FREE for students and dinner will be served! Plus, students that pre-register on Handshake will be entered to win a prize valued at $250! (Must be present to win.)
