Funding opportunities this week include the Joyce Foundation, LOI due by June 24; Spencer Foundation Small Research Grants on education, due July 1; American Family Insurance Data Science Institute at UW-Madison invites proposals on a wide range of data science research, due July 8; WI Humanities Council Major Grants are due August 15; Greater Milwaukee Community Foundation Cycle 3 grants are due August 28. Dr. Melody Harvey to Join Consumer Science in Fall 2020

Currently the National Poverty Fellow at the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, Harvey studies how public policies affect economically vulnerable populations in the U.S., with a focus on the effects of K-16 financial education on the financial outcomes of youth and young adults across different socioeconomic groups.

SMPH medRAMP now offers a listing of both UW and external COVID-19 funding opportunities. USDA expanded its AFRI program to include rapid response proposals for agriculture and food systems, due June 4 . Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks proposals for its Pioneering Ideas call, rolling deadline. RRF Foundation for Aging invites proposals for its next grant cycle, due August 3. This week’s NIH Nexus highlights a tool to mine and analyze COVID-19 research articles; provides updates to FAQs; and offers practical advice to proposers impacted by the pandemic. Also, be sure to check out UW-Madison’s knowledgebase that summarizes the features and options available for online video meetings and conferences.

The Research at UW newsletter is chock-full of updates, news, and resources for campus researchers. UW-Madison OVCRGE invites applications to the limited competition for NIH Science Education Partner Award (SEPA), for Research Education activities in alignment with the mission areas of the NIH.
