When Dean Simpson’s tenure was completed in 1985, Dr. Hamilton McCubbin was appointed Dean of the School. The Center for Retailing Studies is established.

FRCS graduate student Grace Tonge publishes “Ten Dynamic Women” in 1984 with backing from the Meta Schroeder Homemaker Fund. One of the women featured is Professor May Reynolds.

Following Dean Simpson’s tenure, Dr. Hamilton McCubbin was appointed Dean of the school in 1985.

The school creates the Center for Retailing Studies in 1987 as part of the Department of Environment, Textiles and Design. Two years later, Robin A. Douthitt joins the Department of Consumer Science as Associate Professor.
