Dr. Marla Handy received her B.S. from Grand Valley State University, M.S. from John Hopkins University, and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. She teaches in the Interdisciplinary Studies and Consumer Science Departments of the School of Human Ecology.

She has 20 years experience consulting with nonprofit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, governance, and managerial development and has worked domestically and in South America, Africa, Asia, the South Pacific, Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union. She is a former Peace Corp member having served in the Philippines.

Her research interests include public/nonprofit social service partnerships, nonprofit governance, and interagency collaborations.
