Traditions of Research
From its earliest years, research has been an important component of the School of Human Ecology. Instructor Ellen Huntington cited the experiments of Miss Elsa Castendyck and Mrs. E.C. Compton, students in the Home Economics Department, in her Fireless Cooker, the first Bulletin of University of Wisconsin Series, published in 1908. Through this website we explore some facets of research conducted here over the past 100 years.
