Julia Dalrymple

In her thirteen years at UW, from 1953 to 1966, Julia Dalrymple built up and then directed the department of Home Economics Education and Extension. She brought to UW twenty-one years of teaching experience--ten years as an elementary teacher while completing her undergraduate degree in Home Economics at Muskingum College (1937), and eleven years as a high school vocational home economics teacher. Dalrymple earned her doctorate from Ohio State in 1952. She left the UW in 1966 to take a position in home economics education at Ohio State.
